Full Details

Zennor is located adjacent to the South West Coastal path and is just a few miles from St. Ives. The house is approached via an attractive country lane offering a complimentary taste of the enviable rural setting that awaits. The orientation of the Carn Cobba is very special. Facing the South West with views of the cove and the setting sun, Carn Cobba is a truly remarkable home. On stormy days the westerly winds, rolling Cornish sea mists, crashing Atlantic waves and the exposed situation make it a very exciting and dramatic landscape.

Ample parking for cars, spill from the house to well placed terraced and decking areas offer a secluded vantage point for a quiet read or a sundowner. There is a sheltered courtyard with Lily pond and trickling water, away from the prevailing wind for breakfast or lunch in the sun, or a lower garden terrace outside the cellar for an evening overlooking the sea and a BBQ. The main Loggia offers covered views and an outside dining or drinks area.

From the house the gardens extend down several sets of granite steps to waterfalls, past the leat which leads to a tranquil Mill pond. A gate leads directly onto the National Trust South West Coastal path. For those who love walking and for the sheer joy of being close to the magnificent scenery, this a bonus unsurpassed. Walk to Gurnards Head and lunch at this very special gastro pub. The lawns that stretch out to the sea are also a great space for children to kick a ball and burn off some energy.

The present owners have carried out an extensive restoration to the house and gardens as seen today. It has a clear uncluttered welcome from the moment you arrive you are filled with a sense of space, warmth and calm. Flooded with natural light yet warmed by the rich oak flooring against fresh white walls. If the azure blue seas and dramatic coastline views are not enough of a reminder of the delights that Cornwall has to offer then beautiful Cornish nautical inspired artwork is the interior design theme throughout this sumptuous family home. The house flows effortlessly into the state of the art kitchen, the hub of the house, for the creation of culinary delights. The dining area with seating for 12 to 14 guests with a coastal backdrop creates a lovely atmosphere for a casual brunch or more celebratory dining. Retire to the spacious drawing room with panoramic views.

The bedrooms are simply perfect - neutral tones, carpeted flooring and bespoke furniture, with all bar one bedroom enjoying sea views. There are four double bedrooms, one twin bedded bedroom and two bunk rooms equating to accommodation for up to 14 guests (ideally suited to 10 adults and 4 children). A super ratio of bedrooms to contemporary style bathrooms. There is ample storage for guests to unpack completely and two cots available for families. There are televisions and docking stations for ipods in each of the double bedrooms.

For those who wish to keep in touch with the outside world and their busy working lives, office facilities are provided with Wi-Fi broadband access and fax machine. For those rainy Cornish days there is a snug in the attic for all the family to watch a movie or for kids to escape the adult environment and chill with a game. The laundry room is located in the outbuilding along with additional fridge and freezer space, together with artists' materials for those creative moments. On wet walks you can return and deposit boots, walking shoes, and wet coats in the boot room.

Carn Cobba is the perfect exclusive Cornish retreat for couples, an extended family, or 2-3 families wanting to stay in one of the finest, luxury holiday homes that Cornwall has to offer. Located close to St. Ives, the jewel of the Cornish crown.

Carn Cobba is a magical place and we have enjoyed the most wonderful week there. The house, it's grounds and the views are all simply stunning. Everyone was blown away by the whole experience. Also the concierge service was excellent. Surfing lessons were great. The supper delivered by the chef was delicious, the breakfasts delivered were good. The catered birthday meal was fantastic, the chefs provided a superb buffet lunch, beautiful and delicious. They were lovely to have in the house and I have already recommended them to the owner. Such a great week all round
